Bill Milliken’s Bugatti 35A goes wide entering the village on lap 4 of the 1948 Watkins Glen Grand Prix. Moments later, he lost control and overturned. Milliken emerged from the car unhurt and the corner was subsequently named in his honor. A Franklin Street mural based on this image was completed by the artist in 2002. Milliken passed away in 2012. He will be remembered worldwide as a major figure in road racing.
