Frank Griswold’s 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C-2900B rounds the 4th Street turn on its way to winning the first race held in Watkins Glen on October 2nd, 1948. This supercharged car was originally built for the Mille Miglia and its abilities proved well–suited to the 6.6 mile ”round the gorge” circuit.
